03/23/18 Roseville, CA – At Creekside Traffic Collision – DUI Man Attempts To Steal AMR Ambulance – Is Removed From Ambulance And Tries Unsuccessfully To Steal Fire Truck

Creekside, attempted car-jacking: At 6:41 a.m. March 4, Roseville firefighters and officers responded to a traffic collision in the 1200 block of Antelope Creek Drive. One of the drivers involved in the collision climbed into the front of the ambulance and tried unsuccessfully to drive the ambulance. Ambulance personnel got him out of the ambulance and the man tried to climb into the fire engine’s driver’s seat. Firefighters restrained him until officers arrived on scene. Officers arrested the 22-year-old San Pablo man on suspicion of DUI and attempted carjacking.

Sierra Gardens, vehicle theft: Between midnight and 11 a.m. March 5, someone stole a gold 1989 Honda Civic from the 1600 block of Kent Place.

Lead Hill, burglary, arrests made: At 2:22 a.m. March 3, officers responded to an alarm at an office complex in the 1300 block of Lead Hill Boulevard. A business had been broken into and they stopped two men on foot in the area. The suspects had stolen property and additional stolen electronics from the offices were stashed in the bushes. Officers arrested a 22-year-old homeless man from Modesto on suspicion of burglary, grand theft, conspiracy, and committing a felony while out on bail for another felony; and they arrested a 41-year-old homeless man from Roseville on suspicion of burglary, grand theft and conspiracy. Officers booked both men into the South Placer Jail.

Theiles Manor, suspicious circumstances: At 2:42 a.m. March 7, officers responded to the 500 block of Dudley Drive. A woman had knocked on a resident’s door saying someone she knew was being assaulted. Officers contacted the intoxicated woman but were unable to find anyone who was being assaulted. They booked the 50-year-old Roseville woman into jail on an outstanding warrant.

Folsom Road, drug/weapons arrest: At 2:20 a.m. March 5, an officer was doing a routine patrol check of a hotel parking lot in the 200 block of Harding Boulevard and contacted a man on foot in the lot. The officer searched the man and found heroin and a loaded handgun. He arrested the 33-year-old Roseville man on suspicion of carrying drugs while armed, carrying a loaded firearm in public, committing a felony while out on bail, outstanding Sacramento and Placer County warrants, and other related charges.

Enwood, threat, weapons arrest: At about 12:15 p.m. March 5, officers responded to a report of a threat made via social media against an Adelante High School student. Officers located the suspect in a parking lot on Douglas Boulevard and Sierra College Boulevard, and took him into custody without incident. They found an AR-15 type rifle and ammunition in his car. The 19-year-old Roseville resident was arrested on suspicion of criminal threats, possessing and transporting an assault weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in his vehicle and other related charges. He was booked into the South Placer Jail.

Vineyard, vandalism and theft: Overnight March 3 to March 4, someone went into an unlocked car in the 1600 block of Vineyard Road, vandalized the car and stole the stereo system, cash and tools.

Kaseberg-Kingswood, shots fired: At 4:30 p.m. Feb. 27, officers responded to a report of a man firing a long rifle into the open space area near Kingswood Drive and South Bluff Drive. The man was firing an airsoft rifle. Officers detained the man for public intoxication. It’s illegal to fire any kind of firearm inside Roseville city limits, including BB guns and airsoft-type replica guns.

Beat 5 (north central Roseville)

Industrial, vehicle burglary: At 1:33 p.m. March 4, officers responded to a vehicle burglary in progress in the 1300 block of Blue Oaks Boulevard. Officers stopped two suspects in the area and recovered stolen property. Two local men, ages 25 and 29, were arrested on suspicion of vehicle burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both had outstanding warrants.

Highland Reserve, traffic arrest: At 10:49 p.m. March 4, an officer tried to stop a Ford Mustang that entered southbound State Route 65 from Pleasant Grove. The Mustang driver led officers on a pursuit into unincorporated Placer County. Officers followed the Mustang with the help of CHP’s helicopter and Placer County Sheriff units. The driver eventually stopped on Lees Lane, off of Auburn-Folsom Road, and was taken into custody without further incident. Officers arrested the 38-year-old Auburn man on suspicion of evading officers and driving on a suspended license.

Junction West, DUI collision: At 2:22 a.m. March 4, officers responded to a solo vehicle that had crashed into a wall on Fiddyment Road at Westhills Drive. The car was on fire and the three occupants were out of the vehicle. A CHP air unit searched the area to make sure everyone involved was accounted for. The three were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver, a 22-year-old Antelope man, was treated at the hospital and then arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury.

Fiddyment Farms, garage burglary: At about 2:45 a.m. March 2, someone stole items from an open garage in the 4000 block of Porch Swing Drive.

Fiddyment Farms, traffic stop, arrest: At 11:35 p.m. March 3, an officer stopped a pickup on Brick Mason Circle at Smokehouse Way. A passenger had shaved vehicle keys and other suspected burglar’s tools. The officer cited the 42-year-old Sacramento man on suspicion of possessing burglar’s tools.
