A man was taken into custody for allegedly stealing an ambulance Friday night.

Sources say the ambulance was stolen from the emergency room at St. John’s Hospital.

Witnesses say they saw the suspect hop out, leaving the vehicle unmanned as it rolled down Riverdale Avenue.
It then crashed into a pole on the corner of Main Street in Yonkers.

News 12 is told that the driver was taken into custody.

No one was injured.
