A volunteer fire department in Warren County was robbed Wednesday afternoon, and now one of their trucks used to help save lives and property is out of commission for a while.

Yesterday evening around 5:30 p.m. a truck was stolen from the Richardsville Volunteer Fire Department Station #2 on Mt. Olivet Girkin Rd.

Law Enforcement then found the vehicle on the side of the road on Wayne Watt Road a few hours later.

Thieves removed all of the tools including chainsaws, blowers and hand tools from the truck.

An iPad in an Otterbox case, a medical bag, and a silver water can extinguisher were also stolen.

According to firefighters, until they can get replacements for each item, the truck will be out of service.

Anyone who knows anything about the theft should contact KSP Post 3.
