The Winnemucca Police Department on Friday asked for the public’s help finding the person or people who stole an ambulance Sept. 1, 2018, from Humboldt General Hospital.

The ambulance was parking in the hospital’s ambulance bay near Mizpah Street when someone took it around 8 p.m., police said. The ambulance was found a short time later about 4.5 miles away on Interstate 80 near the interchange with Nevada 794, police said. The interior was damaged.
